FAQ

  • What types of concerns do you work with?
Our diverse team of clinicians work with a broad number of presenting issues. If you are seeking someone with specific training and experience with what you are going through, see the provider page for more information. If you see someone that you believe would be a good fit for you but they don't have your specific problem listed, please call in as these lists are not exhaustive and they still may be a great fit for you.
  • What should I expect during my first appointment?
During your initial visit you will need to fill out a brief questionnaire so please come 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Especially if you've never had counseling before, these first visits can seem daunting. Your therapist will answer any introductory questions you have and give a broad overview of the therapeutic process. You will be able to work with your therapist to find a pace that is comfortable for you. We also recommend you reach out to your insurance company prior to your first visit so you know if you will have any personal financial liability or if it will be completely covered.
  • Do you offer couples counseling?
Yes. Please see the Providers page for more information of who may be a good fit for you.
  • What insurances do you accept?
We are in network with many insurance companies. Please contact the front desk at 574-243-9370 to verify that we take your insurance. For your convenience, please verify your policy details (any copay, deductible, etc.) prior to receiving services to ensure you have the most up-to-date information on what you will be accountable for vs. what your insurance will cover.
  • What are your fees?
Out of pocket costs will vary depending on your insurance coverage. Standard 45 minute sessions are $110 and hour long sessions (including the intake) are $150. A sliding scale fee may be available for those who are paying privately. Please discuss this with your provider at the onset of treatment to ensure we can create a plan that works for you.
  • Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
Yes, providers at A Beautiful Mind regularly see clients carrying these types of insurance.
  • What should I do if I can't make my scheduled appointment?
Please do your best to give at least 48 hours of notice in advance. We understand that urgent life circumstances arise that are out of your control and that this may not be possible in every scenario. Consistent late cancellations or lack of notification may result in a fee being charged to your account and/or a cancellation of your standing appointment.
  • Can I schedule an appointment for another person?
It depends. If they are under 18 and your dependent, then yes you need to call as their parent or guardian to schedule an appointment. If an individual is over 18 they will need to call to set up their visit.
